I used tree climbers years ago but I would get hung up in the brush and make so much noise that by time I got set up every animal for hudreds of yards had already made there escape. I do not have wide shoulders and this stand feels almost like nothing as you wind your way through the woods. With my old stand it seemed I used to get hung up on every branch out there. Not only is this stand light but much quieter while walking. I attached a strip of an old seatbelt on the bottom stand to lift it with your feet just like i riged up on my old stand. . You will really like the way the cable system works and I am much more confident that it will not come out of its groove as your climbing like what (could) happen on one of their competitors stands. The price is the reason I originally chose this stand, however there is so many reasons to choose it once you have tried one. The cable system and the way they designed their hinges make it totally collapsible and I will absolutely recomend one to all of my hunting friends.

The stand is ok but needs many improvements. All the holes still have burs inside the tubes which make the cable difficult to remove and shred the cable ends after first use. The rubber compound used on the ends smell horrible and if I can smell it from five feet, the deer can smell it from a mile. There is a bar behind the seat that becomes painful after a couple of hours. The stirrups are also cumbersome and require use of a heel strap to function properly which is just one more strap to deal with.

The seat back ripped off the second time I used the stand. The foot stirrups aren't very user friendly. Your feet are loose and the straps lose tention without taking extra measures to secure the straps. The stand advertises the squared cable ends prevent the cable from getting twisted inside the tube; however, what they really do is get hung up and twisted inside. It's somewhat difficult to push AND pull the cables inside the metal tube. For a couple years now I have been using a competitor's stand and have been completely satisfied with their product, but my stands were stolen during a robbery. The reason I tried this stand is because I favored Ol' Man stands when they were in full production years ago. Overall, I'm not satisfied with the user friendly aspect of this "new age" climbing stand. The stand doesn't match the price sticker in my opinion.
